The Board of Directors at their July 24,1999 meeting divided the state into three groups. The Illinois Women's 600 Bowling Club will use the groups for tournament rotation.
It is the intention of the board to rotate the annual tournament every three years, so that each area of the state will have an equal opportunity to hold the event. The rotation begins with the 1999 tournament in the central part of the state. In the year 2000 to the northern part of the state, and in 2001 to the south.
The northern area includes zones 1,2,3,4, and 5. The zones encompass an area south of the Wisconsin state line to but not including the following counties of Hancock, McDonough, Fulton, Peoria, Woodford, McLean, Ford, and Vermilion. East to Lake Michigan and the Indiana state line including the counties of Lake, Cook, Will, Kankakee, and Iroquois. West to the Mississippi River including the counties of Jo Davies, Carroll, Whiteside, Rock Island, Mercer and Henderson.
The central area includes zones 6,7,8, and 9. This area includes the counties of Hancock, McDonough, Fulton, Peoria, Woodford, McLean, Ford, and Vermilion as the northern boundary and south to but not including the counties of Madison, Bond, Fayette, Effingham, Jasper and Crawford, east to the Indiana state line and west to the Mississippi River.
The southern area will be zones 10 and 11. This area includes the counties of Madison, Bond, Fayette, Effingham, Jasper and Crawford as the northern boundary and south to the Illinois state line, east to the Indiana state line and west to the Mississippi River.
Hopefully, this division will make it easier for your 600 clubs and/or associations when introducing bids to the tournament site committee.
